  • 1. Defining Advising Technologies (1:51 mins)

    Define what “Advising Technology” is and how it benefits an institution; Categorize advising technology tools and provide examples of common solutions utilized by campuses; Recognize the signs and symptoms of an institution that isn’t effectively leveraging technology.

  • 2. Advising Technology in Practice (9:09 mins)

    Demonstrate examples of how advising technology has been successfully implemented and utilized by institutions; Learn about advising technology across the student journey; Examine case studies of advising technology in practice.

  • 3. Readiness Assessment & Identification of Features (5:10 mins)

    Identify the first considerations an institution can make before committing to an advising technology initiative; Identify some of the most common product capabilities and feature needs by the main stakeholder groups impacted by these technologies; Engage in meaningful and appreciative dialogue with key stakeholders to create a strategic plan for the initiative and generate buy-in.

  • 4. Successful Implementation of Advising Technologies (7:24 mins)

    Detail the technology implementation framework from the decision to implement a change through to the full adoption of a solution; Break down the nine key stakeholder personas for who needs to be involved in the technology implementation process and when.

  • 5. Potential Challenges and Biases in Advising Tech (6:22 mins)

    Identify potential challenges that can arise when integrating new advising technologies; Discuss ways an institution can overcome these challenges and work towards improved student outcomes.
